Two Days as a Tourist in Belize

If “A picture is worth a thousand words,” the following YouTube video speaks volumes!  Forty-three pictures with captions allows you to see in 3 minutes and 40 seconds what I saw in my “Two Days as a Tourist in Belize City”.

My new drinking buddy, he chattered when he talked and drinks went right through him.

Although the video lets you see what I saw, here are the logistics of my two days in Belize:

  • DAY 1

It was a day of zip-lining through the jungle canopy, tube caving a river, off to the Belize Zoo and then spending a delightful evening driving around scenic Belize City.  Since my camera is not waterproof, I was not able to take pictures through the cave but I was able to capture everything else.

  • DAY 2

A private guide took me to Altun Ha a Mayan Village which dates back to 400 BC . . . way older than this “Old Guy”!  I was fascinated (and you will be, too) to see a section that was built by the Olmec Tribe.  They inhabited the area from 1,000 BC to 400 BC when they were invaded and conquered by the Mayans.

If you ever have an opportunity to visit Belize, you will enjoy the closeness of civilization and easy drive to experience the jungle.  And it is an experience!
